Prepare the Quilt Top
- Iron and starch all seams flat, paying close attention to bulky seams, which can cause needle breaks during quilting.
- Snip all loose threads.
- Check carefully for any holes or loose seams.
- Make sure your quilt top is square.
Prepare the Backing
- Piece your backing as needed. If you need help with backing piecing, just ask 🙂
- Iron and starch all seams flat.
- Backing should be at least 4 inches larger on all sides than the quilt top.
- Make sure the backing is square.
